It’s not a machine. It’s a story.
When I was in my late teens, I saved my money and went into considerable debt and was paying exuberant insurance costs to buy and drive my first “super car” (to me anyway). It was a dark green 1995 Dodge Stealth, the American version of the legendary Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. I never experienced Twin Turbos and 300HP before then. The sound of the turbos spooling and the rear end dipping down as the front end pointed up made my 5 mile drive to work an adventure every time. I was in love with cars before, but the Dodge Stealth taught me that machines have souls. They tell a story not just about itself, but about its owner too.
Maybe you waited to buy your dream car or you inherited it from a family member who passed away. It could have been a project that sat in your garage for years as you painstakingly put it together while leaving your daily out in the rain. Even for collectors with infinite money, each car represents something; it embodies a childhood dream, or a victory won with cunning or hard work.
One thing is for sure. Every car has a story. Better yet; every car IS a story. Let’s capture part of that story so that next time someone visits your cubicle, home office, or garage, that story will hang on the wall ready to be shared with someone new.
